HOUSE REPAIRS 101 – Open Garage Overhead Doors With No Power (Part 8/8)
Welcome back as we complete our HOUSE REPAIRS 101 Series with our final post covering, how to “Open Garage Overhead Doors With No Power”.
This one’s easy! You should see a cord – probably red – hanging overhead from part of your garage door opener. When you pull the cord, it disengages the opener. At this point, you can then open the garage door by hand.
HOWEVER, if the door is open when the power fails, don’t attempt to pull the cord. It could cause the door to disengage and free-fall. This would be a great time to call a local overhead door company. We would also be happy to recommend one to you!
