During August 2022, the trend continued that our local Hernando County real estate market was being somewhat impacted by rising mortgage interest rates, increasing home inventory levels and other economic factors. For the month of AUGUST 2022, on average, 607 Homes were fully active and available “For Sale” within our Hernando County Multiple List Service (MLS). In comparison, for AUGUST 2021, only 285 Homes were fully active and available “For Sale” within our Hernando County MLS. The increase in housing inventory of 113% more homes on the market means BUYERS have more choices from which to choose. For SELLERS, even though fewer homes sold in August this year than the same time last year, AUGUST 2022 SELLERS continued to experience relatively strong values year over year.
